Tons of great bands playing at The Observatory on 3 stages for 2 days straight....FUN!
NO BUNNY: Stole the show. They packed (and I mean PACKED) The Observatory for their set. People were shoulder to shoulder for the Bunny's sweaty take on garage rock. Plus the dude has balls the size of church bells to wear this outfit on stage, and HE PULLED THE LOOK OFF. Hats off Mr. Bunnyman.
Other great sets we saw;
The Allah-Lahs: This really talented band proved that they could be a major break out act . They have the songs and seemed really comfortable on stage playing to a packed house of several thousand people. Plus judging from all the screaming in the audience the chicks dig 'em.
The Cosmonauts: Trippy psych rock ala JAMC very good stuff.
The Muffs: Kim Shattuck is back and in full force with The Muffs, The Pixies loss is our gain. Look for a new album in the near future.
Cherry Glazerr: Up and coming LA band played a nice set.
SLEEP: Sludge monsters proved that some bands should leave their shirts on.....Please.
Death: Looking cool as shit in purple satin jackets and bringing high energy rock n roll from Detroit Rock City!
Here's a slide show of some of what was happening over the weekend. I have a feeling that next year Burgerama may turn into a major outdoor festival somewhere in the OC.
